After teaching an 8 week Groundswell community mural class to the sweetest group of 5th graders, my students and I worked together to come up with this mural for their school. Through many interactive lessons about public art and its impact, we collectively decided our mural would focus on joy, curiosity, advocacy, community, and creativity. My design for this mural was based on the perspectives and conversations I had with my students throughout our 8 weeks together.
